I remember almost every year, I start the new year with a lot of new year diet plans, a lot of closet organization, and mostly, I re-organize my beauty cabinet by throwing or giving things away — mostly beauty products I didn’t even bother to touch or barely used. I found this way does not really save a lot of space in my cabinet, but it helps to keep things organized. So, it is now 2021, and here are the 21 beauty products I “must have” in my beauty arsenal.
1. COLOR BLOCK HIGH IMPACT LIPSTICK
This lipstick is very smooth, has a matte feeling, but it is really very moisturizing. It is mostly my go-to lipstick right now.
2. CLEAN MASCARA
This clean, buildable mascara lengthens and adds volume to my lashes, and it doesn’t feel dirty or heavy at all.
3. BIG HAIR CLIPS
I’ve used these hair clips all year while staying home. I have long, big, thick hair, and this tool is a quick and easy way to style my hair into a half-up / half-down style.
4. HAIR OIL
I live with this hair oil every time after I wash my hair. It’s big savior for my big and fizzy hair. leaving my hair smooth, but not losing the natural waviness of my hair.
5. SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
I change my hair shampoo and conditioner regularly — I believe hair could have memories, too, and our hair products should be changed sometimes to match our hair’s “mood” and the weather changes. This product is I am using currently.
6. MOISTURIZING CREAM
I have had this moisturizing cream for long time; my skin thought it was too heavy before, but I haven’t used it for a while. until I lately picked up this product again, and the feeling is totally changed. I think with all the big winds, fires, and stress we have been through here in L.A., my skin also needs some “heavy duty” products to heal.
7. MAKE-UP REMOVER
I have tried many other products, and I always go back to this one, the one and only make up remover I am using right now.
9. MICRO DERMABRASION
I like to use this microdermabrasion cream as a face cleaner; it provides an immediate skin-smoothing effect — feels amazing every time I use it.
10. HAIR BRUSH
I like this hair brush — the most expensive hair brush I own, but it is really worth the money — it’s my lifetime hair brush, for sure!
11. SALON ONE-STEP HAIR DRYER & VOLUMIZER
I have have had this hair dryer for many years, and I am ,still loving it!
12. BLOWOUT STYLER
This is a new hair tool I use, in addition to the hair dryer I mentioned above; it gives my hair just enough and the right amount of curls.
13. RESURFACING MASK
This mask is a natural BHA- and enzyme-powered mask that restores glow and refines pores to banish dullness for smooth, healthy-looking, and radiant skin.
14. WATERPROOF EYELINER
I normally only use eyeliner (no eyeshadow) on my eyes, and my eyes tear a lot; this eyeliner is my long time favorite — won’t skip, smudge, and stays in place until I am ready to remove it.
15. EYESHADOW PALETTE
I have typical Asian single eyelids, and I normally don’t use eyeshadow; but when I really want to try some, this is the eyeshadow palette I use. It comes with its own brush, and is super convenient for me.
16. BROW POWER MICRO EYEBROW PENCIL
My eyebrows are a part of my body I really like, so when choosing an eyebrow pencil, I like this eyebrow pencil because it gives me a very natural “it’s my brow, but better” look.
17. TINTED MOISTURIZER
I like this moisturizer because it not only gives my skin a hydrated feel, but it also creates with a tiny dewy coverage that feels amazing and looks fresh.
18. HAND SOAP & LOTION
I just got these hand soaps and lotions recently, and I fell in love the first time I used them. They leave my hands feeling clean, fresh, smooth, and they smell so good!
19. PORE CLEANING CLAY MASK
I like masks, in the spa or at home, and every time my skin feels so fresh, airy, and breathable after using this mask. Clear and clean!
20. VELVET PEAR REED DIFFUSER
My husband normally doesn’t smell things, but the day I put this reed diffuser in our bathroom, he immediately commented, “That room smells so good, what have you done?”
I also like to move the diffuser to wherever I feel I want to be inside the house — might have to consider getting more, for more rooms.
21. MAGIC ROOT COVER UP GRAY SPRAY
This grey root cover-up helps to prolong hair dye and touch-up intervals, if you also already start dealing with your grey hair life. Yep, sad, but that’s life. At least we can do something about it!
