Go Red For Women: Flats Style with Pleated Skirt

HallieDaily Flats Style with Leather Jacket_3Firstly, I want to declare this is not a sponsored post.  This is just from me, speaking from my heart. I just want to share this “Go Red for Women” story with you.

For those who might be interested, February is American Heart Month and the AHA Go Red For Women Organization encourages wearing red to spread awareness.

My mom and my grandma, they both had heart problems, together with other diseases; they both died very young, in their 50’s. You probably wouldn’t know heart disease is the No.1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year (approximately one woman every minute!).   My doctor has been advised me to get regular health screenings, especially blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol, together with keeping a heart healthy diet (lots of fruits and veggies), and exercising for 30 minutes a few times a week, not smoking or using tobacco products, all to prevent heart and other diseases.

I have been trying to live a very health life style so far, and I hope you are, too!

  1. So thankful I have no heart disease in my family and I am healthy! Great look. I know you love polka dots so you wear them often but I don’t, so it’s funny we both have posts right now wearing them! Of course your look is much more fem. than mine! Gorgeous! 😉

  2. Does this flats comfy? I’m looking for flats which I can wear during weekend, so I can walk around for couple of hours. Would really appeciate if you can let me know.

  3. Yes! They are very comfy for walking, even running! (Sometimes, I chase my son with them:)

  4. Hi, Hallie. Did you go half size up or down for the flats?

  5. Be honest, I am not sure, I got my normal size 6 in their flats, they were little bit tight in the toes area in the beginning, then fit perfectly after couple times wearing. I was thinking to try to get half size up, but ended up didn’t, cause the tight toe’s area didn’t bother me too much, do you have long toes? Then maybe half size up? Or buy 2 sizes and return 1? XO Happy Valentine’s Day!

  6. I’m sorry to hear about the heart disease in your family and caused their lives in an early age. Yes, you are right about frequent check ups and exercise. It’s truly important. I’m one who seldom exercise but I’ve been trying to do that twice a week to start now.
You look gorgeous in this pleated skirt. Your flats look comfy too.
