Tuesday: Beauty Reviews( Shiseido, Tory Burch, Smashbox, PUR)

Recently I have been given some new beauty products.  Last weekend, I finally had a chance to try some of them out, and now I am happy to share my reviews with you on some of the products.

1.Shiseido  ‘IBUKI’ multi solution gel. (The cute green one in the middle.)

My first impression is that I really like the Gel, it feels good to apply after it has been refrigerated a while.

It is claimed to help skin make an easy comeback from the effects of stress, erratic schedules, and the environment, breakouts, roughness, dryness, and reduces the look of visible pores.  I have only used 2-3 times so far, and it is still too early to tell the results yet, but the gel itself feels to me like applying raw aloe vera (we have some plants in our garden, and we use it for all kinds of skin irritations).  The gel feels good and smooth to me.

2.Tory Burch Perfume

I have a very sensitive nose and I typically wear light, simple perfumes for the best result.

I liked it the first time I smelled it; it’s kind of a modern, sophisticated and feminine smell.  I consider it great for fall/winter, but it may be a bit too much for summer when I like very light fragrances, according to my taste.

3.PUR minerals Eye Polish

Like the maker says, it will make your eyes pop in a blink! This eye primer and top coat’s pigment creates a crease-proof eye shadow base with a luminous metallic sheen.  If you are looking for a glitter that will stay on all day without any fall out . . . this is for you.

4.Glossier Boy Brow

Think, “Let’s apply mascara to our eyebrows!”  I am lucky that I have some good natural eyebrows, so this product really does it’s job: it thickens the eyebrows, fills them in, and makes them look fuller, in a natural way.  I am not sure how it will look if your eyebrows are sparse, though — might be worth experimenting with it.

5. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water Broad Spectrum SPF 30

Shake it well before applying!  Juat so you know, this is really a liquid foundation with sunscreen in it.  It’s really nice to wear; it’s lightweight and has the consistency of . . .water!  I like that it comes with a SPF 30 sun protection.  I have been running around outdoors a lot recently, and I really like how light and nature this product it is, and that it will protect my skin.  This is a perfect BB cream/foundation for me in the day time.

I would choose a different foundation for a night out, for a more brightening and more coverage look.

6. Smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS Palette

A three-palettes-in-one kit with 16 bestselling shades and a double-ended brush to contour the brows, face, and eyes!  And it comes with “Get The Look” Cards embedded with special t-ink technology that would show how-to videos on your phone.

I haven’t been able to get the video cards to work on my phone. I followed every steps and every tips, but I just couldn’t get it going yet.  I am a little disappointed about that. But!  The palette colors are absolutely lovely.  They are long-lasting, and give excellent color combinations.  I’m very happy with the many flattering colors in the “all in one palette.”  I thank it for helping me start to spend more time to play with eyeshadows — it’s fun!
