2 Elegant & Feminine Looks That Are Easy to Copy

I often get questions about defining my own style. “Elegance” is usually the first word that comes to my mind — that’s my main goal with most of my outfits. I also often hear many people tell me that they would like to dress in my style, but they don’t really have as big a wardrobe as mine . . . yet. Well, I think everybody can style with “elegance,” even on a budget. Of course, it helps to act with “elegance,” too; but you really don’t need to have a big closet. Today I am showing you 2 looks that I think everybody can follow up.

What I Wore:

A below-the-knees pencil skirt is one piece you need to include within your “elegant” closet.  I found this long ruffle skirt via Moda Operandi ; the designer is Johanna Ortiz — she is one of the favorite designers I love.  All her pieces are very elegant and feminine. with ruffles, bows, velvet, lace, statement sleeves…all of these elements are all my favorites, as always!  There are also other skirts I really love that you can consider to include inside your “elegant” closet here:

There is no big dramatic change between my 2 looks today, I literally just changed my top and kept the rest of the accessories the same.

The 1st look is styled with my favorite button-down shirt.  As you have noticed, there are so many white button shirt styles now — wide neckline, bell sleeves, with bow, bodysuit.  I personally really do like all of them, they are good to wear with skirts, jeans, to the beach. or a night out.

For the 2nd outfit, I used a black turtleneck knit sweater to finish the look, if you don’t have a black turtleneck fitted knit top now, you should go get one soon. Shop other turtlenecks that would help to finish a “elegant” look:

Whenever I go for the elegant look, I always try to keep the outfit simple: not too many accessories, not too many layers. Jewelry should be simple and should go with what you are wearing and doing. When I choose jewelry, I normally go for something nice, but not unreasonable. Rebecca de Ravenel is one of my favorite fashion jewelry designers, and you have seen me wearing a lot of her dropped ball earring designs.  I really like this style, and it’s easy for me just to change the color of my earrings to finish different looks. Last, but not least — accessorize strategically!  Choose accessories which compliment your outfit without going over the top.
