Please allow me to talk about jackets for the early Spring style — this is actually what we need most of the time in L.A., anyway.
Today I am styling 2 jackets I just got from J.Crew‘s new arrivals. This is their iconic “Lady” style that I always love. One is made with cotton in my favorite fuchsia color and the other one is made with tweed with gold buttons.
For the first look I mixed the fuchsia jacket and light lilac pants— a combo I have never tried before, but I really love the result. These pants are also from J.Crew. I hesitated to get them, since they only come in Regular sizes; but it turned out I like the length so much, and the pants are so comfortable and easy to move in, so I am happy with the fit. These pants also come in many other colors — get your before they sell out. FYI, my normal size for J.Crew is Petite 25, but I am wearing these pants in size Regular 24.
You know I am always a tweed lover (see my last look in tweed jacket here). And this tweed jacket comes in a light pink and beige check combo, giving me that vintage 50’s vibe, and the length is good to wear with almost everything else — pants, dress, etc. I hear a lot of my friends say they don’t like to show the tummy area when wearing a cropped jacket; so here I styled this jacket both with a shirt tucked in as well as “untucked.” I think the “tucked in” style looks sleek and makes the legs look longer, while the “untucked” style looks more casual and effortless. And that’s my advice for how to wear a cropped jacket, without baring the tummy area.
