Dressed up in our backyard today and trying to deliver an “uplifting” message. Back in early January, when we first started to hear about Covid-19 starting to break out in China, I was in shock. I kept my eyes and ears open to all media to learn what I could, and I shed a lot of tears for the people being affected — but I didn’t know what I could do, and did not post on my social media in China for a while, because I was worried that whatever I posted might be wrong or misunderstood by someone.
And right now, I see most of my Chinese media friends are starting to post about cooking, exercising, and — little by little — they are cautiously back to normal life posts. And I see sponsored posts again, too — I look at that as business is still going, and people are still spending money on things besides food, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper!
I’ve been staying calm and trying to deliver uplifting stories since the pandemic started in the U.S. Not that I am not worried, nor being careful about this, but I just know that things will get better, eventually! Right now what we can do is to stay strong, and fight through this, physically and mentally. I am here to say, don’t let all the scary news discourage you from doing what you can to enjoy life inside your home — read a new book, play dress up, learn new skills online, experiment with some new make-up look, try to dance like there’s a party going on, and try to be a great chef in my case. . In our home, we are also doing some over-due deep cleaning in the house and yard both.
And while we all together living this “Social Distance” life, please don’t stop the “social” part. I get a little panicked when my family / friends stop texting me, calling me, or posting things in their social medias. I think we should all share what we can share right now, good or bad, so we can have all the real information going, and we can act reasonably and responsibility.
In Los Angeles, the last couple days we had a lot of cloud and rain, but this morning, the rain was gone, and the sun was shining very brightly — when you go from storm to sun, the improvement seems very dramatic. That is how I believe it will be for this virus that the entire world is suffering together — the crisis will suddenly pass, and our lives will swell with hope and happiness.
We got this!
