Business Casual Do & Don’t: Belted Blazer & Jeans

I mostly work at home, but once in a while, I do go with my husband for some business office visiting or a lunch meet-up with some business related friends. And my go-to business casual style is always a blazer with skirt or a pair of full-length jeans like I wear today. There are also a couple “Do or Don’t” things I consider when styling business casual:

1. Although I love floral and bright colors, I normally “Don’t” wear them to a business related occasion. I think they can look”too sweet” which is not necessary for some occasions. In business settings, I mostly want to be taken as serious / competent, not necessarily sweet.

2. I always think jeans “Do” qualify as business casual — I think mostly they can look down to earth and friendly. But, business casual jeans should be clean and in good condition, free of any tears, rips, fading, or fraying. And, I would avoid bright-colored jeans.

3. I always pick shoes that “Do” cover my toes for business casual — they look professional & clean, no matter how your toenails look.
