Last week, I had the pleasure to visit Cannes during the famous Film Festival with the team of The Harmonist and I want to tell you all about it. It was such a wonderful experience, the weather was perfect in Cannes, and the food and sightseeing was fantastic. And I’ll get to all that good stuff.
But first, the most interesting part of the trip was learning about The Harmonist fragrance brand and philosophy, and learning about the Feng Shui theory behind the different personalized scents. I had a great experience receiving full brand immersion with different members of The Harmonist team. At different stations, among other interesting people, I got to meet one-on-one with The Harmonist Parfumier, the marketing team, and their Feng Shui expert.

Using Feng Shui to Choose Fragrances that Harmonize Your Life.
The key to The Harmonist approach to perfumes is using the principles of Feng Shui to find your own personal element, and using your personal element to choose the right scent for you. Being from China, I believe in Feng Shui, so I feel it is a very good way to choose a fragrance.
The basic approach involves considering the five traditional elements that exist in all things — Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, and Metal — and the Yin and Yang duality that exists in us, and finding which combination of those factors is dominant in you. I got to meet with The Harmonist’s Feng Shui expert, and through her ceremony discovered my unique element (Yin Wood). Then I found the perfume elixirs that are best suited for my personal life journey.

If you are interested to try this approach, and learn your own personal element, I strongly suggest you go to The Harmonist website and you can go through the process to define your element online (direct link here) in just a few minutes. It is pretty easy to do: just fill in your birthdate, birthplace, time of birth (if you know it), name, and you are good to go! Using the traditional principles The Harmonist will determine your personal element, and tell you some things about yourself, and celebrities who share your same personal element. It’s very interesting!
In less than a minute you’ll see your personal element, a little about how it applies to your life and personality, and it even tells you which scents to choose to affect different aspects of your life, like socializing, creativity, prosperity, status, and wisdom. All I can say is it seemed just right for me! (And when I secretly put in my husband’s information, the result was so accurate I laughed out loud, like The Harmonist knew him!)
The Harmonist emphasizes quality, and its elixirs are composed with rare and precious natural ingredients from all over the world. The signature scents are very pure!
On Saturday, I went with The Harmonist team and guests for a tour of the Taizo Parfumerie (120 Rue d’Antibes, 06400 Cannes, France). It is a stunning fragrance boutique that carries The Harmonist products in Cannes. It is located on the corner of a lovely street in Cannes — to me, every corner in that area was a beautiful place to stop by!

The most relaxing experience during the trip was enjoying some sun and relaxation on the beautiful beach of the Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel. It was perfect weather, so we had lunch there, and the food (and drink) was yummy!

Where we stayed:
J.W. Marriott Hotel
(location: 50 Boulevard de la Croisette, BP 224, Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur, 06414 Cannes, France). This 5-star Marriott Hotel is an easy 30 minute drive from the international airport in Nice, so it is very convenient. And it is directly across from the famous Cannes oceanfront, right in the middle of the city, in the area famous for its shops and boutiques. Name your favorite designers — they are all right there! (Believe me, I made it a point to stop in the boutiques of so many of my favorite designers!)

Where we ate:
Tetou (8 Avenue des Frères Roustan, 06220 Golfe, France)
I heard from different people that Tetou serves the greatest bouillabaisse in that area, just as simple as bouillabaisse should be — so tasty and fresh. It was lucky for us, the weather was perfect when we were there, and we took our time to enjoy the food while breathing the open fresh air and the soothing sound of the ocean. We ordered several different dinners, and shared with each other — it was all delicious!

In the picture above, the man holding a lot of fruit jams is the general manager of The Harmonist — Segundo Broggi. He is the most charming boss I have ever seen, with a serious French classic dressing style.

La Terrasse by Albane
This was exclusive rooftop dining at the J.W. Marriott Hotel and that’s the place where (earlier) I found my element with The Harmonist team. The view overlooking the oceanfront, was fantastic! And I wouldn’t mind just to sit there facing the water from day to night.

Restaurant de Bacon (664 Boulevard Bacon, 06160 Juan les Pins, France)
Bacon is one of the most renowned seafood restaurants in France, and that is saying a lot! It has 60 years of experience in the culinary arts of the sea. Restaurant de Bacon has the biggest menu I have ever seen in my life, and it’s ideally located across from the old town of Antibes, right on the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels). If you like dining with a romantic/fantastic view, you will like this restaurant! I know I did! (If you are a real gourmet, you will appreciate that it is a Michelin star restaurant.)

“Le Cap Restaurant” at Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel (10 Boulevard Marechal Juin, 06160 Cap d’Antibes, France)
Nothing can beat this place for its perfect location on the beach! We had lunch outdoors, at a table just a few steps away from the sand. There were comfortable chaises lounges on the beach, too, where we relaxed in the sun after lunch (and it was another perfect day in paradise). The food was great French/Italian cuisine. So good!

Restaurant La Palme d’Or at the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez (73 Boulevard de la Croisette, 06400 Cannes, France)
Our last dinner in Cannes was in La Palme d’Or. The dining experience was exquisite, which was the best way to end our trip in Cannes.
