How to Find Your Perfect Cropped Flare Pants/Jeans

I’ve HAD my eyes on a pair of good cropped flare pants/jeans for a long time.

So, during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I bought a couple cropped flare pants, including the J Brand “Selena” cropped jeans, but . . . this pair of Joie “Bardot” won my heart!

So I looked online at all the information about these pants.  While the J Brand “Selena” cropped jeans have a 26″ inseam, the Joie “Bardot” have a 24 1/2″ inseam.  If you ever go to a tailor and get your pants altered, you will know normally what’s the pants length that is best for you.

For me, if I want to show off my ankles, the perfect inseam is 25″ inseam, so no doubt the Joie “Bardot” will fit better for that.  Some might think to tailor the flare pants/jeans, but I wouldn’t recommend it.  To me, they just don’t look right if you cut them.

Also, the J Brand “Selena” cropped jeans are made of 94% cotton, 4% polyester, 2% Lycra® spandex, while the Joie “Bardot” are made from 57% cotton, 39% lyocell, 4% spandex. I feel when I put the J Brand on, they show off my thigh more clearly then the Joie pants.  I know a lot of my friends don’t like their jeans/pants too tight.  “They make me look fatter than I am,” they say, and I can understand why!  (Of course, other girls want them to be as tight as possible!  Depends on your taste and the purpose, I guess.)

Today I’m pairing the Joie “Bardot” with a simple white button-down(from Zara), and my new Lanvin bag that I also successfully hunted during the sale season. Shoes are from Prada.
