Black is such a mysterious color that I will always love to style and to wear all year long; and since black is the color that absorbs heat more than any other lighter colors, most of people don’t like to wear all black during hot summer days.
It never bothers me that much, though, and when I style my all black summer outfits, here are the 3 tips that I keep in mind:
1. Choose light material and a roomy fit.
Light material including cotton, linen, and silk are good for the hot summer days, and I always lean toward a roomy fitting black dress/skirt, rather than wearing black skinny jeans in the hot summer — it even makes me sweat just thinking about putting on or taking off a pair of black skinny jeans on a hot summer day!
2. Show some skin according to your comfort level.
As we all embrace different cultures and backgrounds, we have different standards for “showing some skins.” For me, I don’t mind to show off my shoulders, arms, & some leg, too, for a weekend or evening look. What about you?
3. Add some bling accessories to give the all black outfit a positive lift.
I love my gold earrings and necklace. Oversized button earrings are my new obsession this season; the pair I am wearing today comes from vintage St. John, found a pair of similar good ones here.
Oh, and don’t forget to put on your favorite perfume! My current favorite is this Le Labo Rose 31 Eau de Parfum.
