I normally am not a fan of metallic elements in fashion-related items, but this holiday season, I feel I need something new to freshen my closet and give my normal style a new lift.
I wore this metallic top (under $100, from here; unfortunately it is sold out currently, but I advise you keep checking back to see if it will restock soon), for a dinner night out with my husband. I paired this top with this pair of denims; I feel the jeans give the dramatic top a relaxed vibe, and keep the whole look in a balanced chic, yet not too much flash.
So here is my advice when wearing metallic items:
1.Keep the other items clean & simple.
2.Keep the makeup clean & simple.
3.Keep the conversation clean & simple. (This may seem a little bit odd when talking about how to style. But I think metallic always gives other people a “powerful & strong” message; unless you want to play that card, better keep the voice down and be nice. 🙂
