In my little family, Mother’s Day is always celebrated by just 3 of us — husband, Red Bear, and me. My husband and I both lost our moms many years ago, so Red Bear never knew his grandmothers, except from our stories. So, in our family, Mother’s Day for me is more like me celebrating myself being a “great mom,” indeed! Not really bragging how “great” a mom I am — but, seriously, we should all acknowledge that being a “great mom” is not an easy job. Motherhood requires so many sacrifices, every minute of every day putting your child’s needs first, and giving love generously, without thinking to skimp on the giving, or receiving anything in return. Although, raising your child well is return enough, I think.
For you who out there who still enjoy a beautiful life with your mom, this is the special day when you should express your true love feeling to your mom. I know Mother’s Day is just a few days away, Sunday, May 12, but there are a few last-minute gift ideas I would like to share. Actually, my husband and my son, they gave me all the gifts I love in the past years’ Mother’s Days and I would like to share with you.
- Clean your mom’s house or her room, or her garden,
- Wash your mom’s car by yourself, or just send it to a professional for a deep cleaning,
- Make a special meal — always tastes better for your mom if you make by yourself, trust me!
- Draw or make a picture of your mom, and frame it,
- Flowers are always a good idea —- and don’t forget to hand-write a nice note to go with it!
- Gift Card, maybe to her favorite store, restaurant, or spa!
Many stores offer express shipping for Mother’s Day.

i love those thoughtful ideas rather than just buying a gift! Sometimes buying a gift can be the easy way out, but spending time and effort for your mom is super special!
