Before I started to write this post, I researched, “what are lug sole shoes?” According to that fashion bible, Vogue, “The lug sole boot features a toothy rubber sole, indented for traction, which is ideal for navigating a rainy fall day or even winter’s snowy wintry mixes. And while it does have roots in functionality, that doesn’t mean they aren’t great for everyday wear or even on special occasions like, say, fashion week. “
Today let’s discuss this trend, shall we? For me, I am basically open-minded about fashion, especially those hot trends, and lug sole shoes (loafers, boots) are being seen everywhere, on celebrities and during Fashion week. Besides the loafer style giving every outfit a boyish and effortless touch, those rubber heels give me extra height — hooray for that!
I have been really looking for a pair of lugs this season, and by accident found these Stuart Weitzman “Soho” loafers. They almost sold out everywhere, and I was lucky to hunt down a pair of my size here. I normally wear shoes size 6, but I found this pair in size 5.5, and it fit just right. I didn’t wear socks (I should have, I know!) this day when wearing them — it was the first time, but I never has a problem walking in them, and no blisters, either. And now I know they sold out so fast for a reason! (P.S. I also tried on this “Bedford” style and compared with the “Soho” I am wearing today, they both are about the same, but I feel “Soho” is a bit lighter and the toe area is a lit smaller which I like.)
