New Beauty Favorites

The weather in Los Angeles has been so strange lately, from very, very hot (record setting for Los Angeles, in fact), and with all the wild fires in California, the air pollution has been bad lately, too, and the ashes in the air make it seem cloudy and block the sun. Strange days.

We all wear masks every time we go out to protect other people; do you still wear make-up or lipstick, with or without a mask? I always wonder. Personally, these days I mostly go out with my normal big hats and oversized sunglasses, and just minimal make-up when I go out, since nobody can see behind my mask. And most of my skincare routines I just do in the privacy of home. But beauty goes on, and I remain always on the hunt for good new products.

I am sharing some of my current favorite beauty finds below.

The same as many other media platforms, I receive many free beauty samples/gifts to try. And, yes, my bathroom is full of beauty samples, but I do not try all the free samples, though. I only choose products to try that have a good reputation and good reviews online — yes, I am that kind of person who really believes in REAL reviews. And I do spend some time (at least 1 month) to try out new samples, to give them a fair try.

Below are some of my new favorites that I really recommend:

  1. Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil and Double R Serum

They smell really good and leave my skin glowing and moisturized.  I mostly use them together at night before bed, and again in the morning.  I definitely can feel the glow, moisturized, but not heavy and greasy.

2. Mary Kay Satin Body Lotion.

It smells so good, and I feel my body skin is very moisturized, and the feeling lasts for long time!

3. Dermalogica Hydro Masque Exfoliant

What it is? A two-in-one hydrating and exfoliating mask that intensely moisturizes and visibly retexturizes to reveal smooth, healthy, luminous-looking skin.

If you are a mask lover like I am, give this a try!

4. CLE CCC Cream

No, I barely using heavy foundations these days, and this is my go-to lightweight foundation.  And it’s easy to apply; I only need to use my fingertips to apply it all over my face after serum, and I just blend it on my skin. It looks so natural with just enough glow.

P.S. I am using “Warm Light”.

5. Perricone MD No Lipgloss Lipgloss SPF 15

I don’t put on lipstick often these days.  Mostly, I feel they dry my lips and leave marks on my “pandemic protection” mask. This lip gloss is my go-to lip color when I need to go out for pictures; it’s very moist, and the color looks very natural and fresh.
