Happy Last Day of 2019, Friends! It’s New Year’s Eve!

So a few days ago, I finally went for a haircut. I am stil keeping the long hair style, but I went for a long layers.

I feel I have been really bad to my hair (which is one of my favorite parts of my appearance!) these last few years. I wash my hair almost every day, after coming out of the gym, and I do not regularly — rarely, in fact — use any hair care products on it.

So I have a new hair resolution and revolution (ahead of many others) for the new year!

1. Wash my hair less.
I recently tried some dry shampoo for this purpose. My favorite so far is the Dove Refresh+Care Dry Shampoo, Volume & Fullnesso. It leaves my hair feeling and smelling fresh! I also like this Dry Shampoo Volume Powder Natural & Organic Jumbo size; it seems to help to cover grey roots between each hair coloring, and to let me go longer between hair coloring.

2. Starting to using hair care product.

I bought this MOROCCANOIL Treatment & MOROCCANOIL Restorative Hair Mask, and only used them once so far. But my first impression? I’m already in love!

I also bought this SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Leave In Treatment, on the pro side, I like that it not too oily, and feels light and moist. The con though, is that the spray head stopped working the first time I used it! I had to open the top and pull the product out, and apply it with my hand to my hair — and I think that might be a better way to apply it.

3. Eat healthier and commit to supplements.
I consider that I eat pretty clean, but most of the time, I believe I don’t take in enough vitamins and other nutrients for my hair and body through the food I eat. So I just bought many of these Dr. Perricone MD SKIN & TOTAL BODY SUPPLEMENTS when they were on sale for $54 (a one-month supply). I took 2 weeks of them so far, and already feel more energy, less stress, and sleep better. I haven’t see any dramatic skin or hair change yet, but everything takes time, and I am committed to take them daily for a while.

4. Use hot tools less and more wisely.

I bought this Dyson Airwrap last year, and I’m loving everything about it. (I blow dried my hair today using the Brush, btw). But I worry about too much heat damaging my hair, so I have to be careful. As much as I love the Dyson, I also use some heatless ways to manage my hair.

a. if you have wavy hair like mine, try this DevaCurl Styling Cream. I applied it to my wet hair right after washing it. I let it “air dry,” and it works beautifully on my wavy hair. I like to use it on those warm days we have so often in California!

b.I also tried this heat-less curly hair way after I watched this video. (link). It works on me! And I hope it work on you, too! I do blow dry my hair to about 70% dry in the winter time, because I don’t like to sleep with my hair wet. If I do, I have a headache the next day, and could get a cold.

I will continue sharing my New Year Resolution Revolution if I have another one come up. I am not the type of person who takes New Year resolutions so seriously, but I do want to make some changes in my life, only to make a better me, but not because of the year change. What about you?
