My hair seems to have changed in the last few years, from thick and curly to thinner and straighter. I don’t know the cause, but I started to notice it more after giving birth to Red Bear. And it became most evident to me when I was doing sports- suddenly my scalp was showing more than normal. After posting an image of myself on the field, a reader asked me if I had an accessory in my hair. I knew I didn’t so I started investigating the image to see what she was seeing and then I saw it—the skin under my part was quite visible looking a bit like a barrette. I was so embarrassed.
I’ve never heard about a hair product that could help address thinning hair and help it stay longer and stronger, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when Aveda asked to partner with me for their Invati™ 3-Step System for thinning hair.
The system breaks down like this:
Step 1: EXFOLIATE: The invati™ exfoliating shampoo with salicylic acid (naturally-derived from the oil of wintergreen)helps to exfoliate and renew the scalp.
Step 2 THICKEN: The invati™ thickening conditioner consisting of Soy protein and naturally derived amino acids mimic hair’s building blocks to help weightlessly thicken hair from within.
Step 3 ACTIVATE: The last step, massage in Aveda Invati™ scalp revitalizer is designed to help people keep the hair they have longer by increasing hair density and thickness. (Sounds amazing, right?!)
I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. I mean, can this really work? Of course I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try — and the product is made with naturally derived ingredients including certified organic turmeric from India.
My hair feels softer and thicker; I think the combination has created good results. I will continue using it for a few months and see what the difference is in that time period. Everyone’s different, of course, but don’t forget to use the system as directed for best results.
