How to: Your Everyday Chic Style Guide

Being a mom blogger, there is always an issue before going out that morning: prepare breakfast and lunch for the family, make sure Red Bear eats his breakfast, then make sure he brushes his teeth before he puts on his school uniform.  Then I have to dress myself, trying to head out the door in a short time but still looking “chic” and ready for some of my blog-related fashion event.

How to prepare myself in a very chic style in a short time?  Here is how I do it:

  • Keep my hair simple.  I have a lot of hair, so straightening my hair or curling it in the morning takes a lot of time, so recently I have just been doing a low bun, which I think is so on trend now and looks very elegant.  So my suggestion for you: find an easy, simple hair style that works for you — high bun, messy bun, braid, or whatever else you like, it’s all up to your taste.  And if you happen to have good naturally wavy hair, lucky you!  Just leave your hair in nature’s way!

  • Iron your skirt and shirt the night before.  If you don’t have time to iron your shirt or skirt, then don’t wear those having wrinkles!  There are other choices that never have wrinkles, like a knit top and jeans.

  • If you know you are going to walk a lot that day, I suggest you wear a pair of kitten heels or any other good walking heels.  I am that kind of person — no confidence when wearing flats, so I usually bring a pair of flats in my bag if I need to walk, and I change them after meetings or when I need it.

  • Keep your make up light and just use enough perfume.  I have seen many people who wear heavy foundation in the day time, and after a few hours of sun and laughter, those “foundation masks” get dry and may even crack, and it doesn’t look good at all.  Light makeup avoids those problems.  And we all know perfume could change its smell after you sweat or spend too much time in heat, so you want your perfume to please people, but not make people around you feeling uncomfortable.

  1. I can’t agree more with point 1. You know I have spent a lot of time on my long thick hair every morning.
