Today, I am wearing an outfit which is very similar to the one I was featured wearing in last year’s Vanity Fair Best-Dressed website and the magazine.  This was such a great experience and It was a great honor for me to receive such an award for being included in the Vanity Fair International Best-Dressed List.

And today, I am very happy to spread the word: Vanity Fair Launches 2nd Annual International Best-Dressed Challenge! (See the press release provided by Vanity Fair)

VANITY FAIR LAUNCHES SECOND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL BEST-DRESSED CHALLENGE

New Platform Transforms IBDL Challenge Homepage into Interactive Style Hub

Magazine Partners with Barneys New York to Invite Readers to Nominate Themselves and Others for the 2014 International Best-Dressed List

New York, NY—Vanity Fair launched today its second-annual International Best-Dressed Challenge, giving readers the opportunity to submit photos of themselves and others to be considered for the 2014 International Best-Dressed List. The two winners of the International Best-Dressed Challenge—one man and one woman—will be announced in the September issue of Vanity Fair. Barneys New York will serve as this year’s sponsor, providing advertising on the site throughout the duration of the Challenge.

This year, the magazine engaged Tidal to develop a digital platform, anchored on the International Best-Dressed List homepage, that transforms the Challenge into an interactive hub for the magazine’s style community. Users enter the Challenge by creating a profile that allows them to upload galleries of their looks; “like” and “vote” on other people’s looks; share photos and galleries on social networks; vote for Monthly Users’ Choice winners; and go toe-to-toe in rounds of “Who’s More Stylish?” Users earn badges for being selected as an Editor’s Pick or winning a Monthly Users’ Choice Challenge, or for earning a certain number of likes. The badges can be shared on social networks and embedded in blogs, giving users the opportunity to tout their sartorial credentials and encourage further participation.

“As we launch year two of the Challenge, we’ve essentially turned our Best-Dressed List homepage into a social network for our stylish readers,” said Vanity Fair vice-president and publisher Edward Menisheschi. “We’re thrilled to have Barneys as our partner as we build this online fashion community.”

The entrant who has received the most “likes” from viewers in the portal each month from March to June will win $1,000, with one among those four winning $4,000 as the Grand Prize Users’ Choice winner. Additionally, each week a group of Vanity Fair editors and friends of the International Best-Dressed List will pick their favorite looks from the latest submissions. These selections will be presented in a weekly slideshow with style notes from the editors. Throughout the duration of the Challenge, the International Best-Dressed List committee will also curate slideshows highlighting the best thematic looks, such as denim, accessories, or formalwear.

The deadline for final entries is June 30, whereupon the International Best-Dressed List selection committee will review all submissions. The two winners will appear in the September 2013 issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands in August.

Founded in 1940 by Eleanor Lambert, the International Best-Dressed List recognizes the most influential and prominent personalities in fashion eachyear.  Lambert bequeathed the list to Vanity Fair editors Graydon Carter, Reinaldo Herrera, Aimée Bell and Amy Fine Collins. It has appeared in the magazine annually since 2004. Honorees are elected via ballots mailed to over a thousand select voters from the international worlds of fashion, society, business, the arts, and entertainment. Voter ballots are then tabulated, and the results are finalized by an appointed International Best-Dressed Poll committee.
