9am To 9pm Wear

Work Wear: Floral Midi Dress, Navy Blazer, via: HallieDaily

A lot of people ask me to give some “Work Wear” suggestions.  My first question before everything else is always: “What kind of job do you have?”

Through my blog, I get to meet a lot of talented people, such as brand’s public relations and media people, some designers, some bakery owners, some artist, and some female entrepreneurs.  So, including myself , “work wear” doesn’t always means “Office Wear,” and most of us need to incorporate our “Work Wear” with our everyday wardrobe.

However, “Work Wear” is still an important style: you want to show you are good at what you are doing and you want to look professional.   You want to show people you are serious at work and don’t play around.  Impressions matter, and good style makes good impressions.

For people who have read my blog for a while, you knew that I like to shop at ModCloth.  They carry many vintage and retro-inspired styles, together with some trendy items.  My favorite items from ModCloth are their COTTON dress/skirt/top.  And if you are into prints and flower prints like I am, they really have a lot of good choices!  I am happy to see them include some very cute work wear items like these items I am wearing today. The navy blazer really adds some power to this floral dress, makes the look decent, yet still looking professional.  I was very happy to find out that it’s machine washable, and only took a quick run over with the iron!

I still have the same habit I had years ago, when I worked as a Government travel agent.  I throw a pair of flats in my office, so I can wear them after work.  And I exchanged my blazer for a cardigan for walking home or going out with friends after work.  How easy that is!

  1. I used to wear boring black to work all the time. I’ve got all sorts of colours now and mix my work and day wardrobes, who says they need to be seperated
