Lace Pencil Skirt and High Neck Silk Top

HallieDaily High Nick Silk top, Pink Lace Pencil Skirt, Christian Louboutin Nude Pumps, Stella McCartney Clutch_1I wore this outfit for the interview with China TV last week. Why did I choose it? I think it’s simple, classic, feminine, decent, and chic.

Most people don’t really understand why I dress up most of the time. Once in a while, I have people ask me if I go to “fancy places” a lot.  I ask them back, “Do you only dress nicely when you go to fancy places?”

There’s a saying, “You are what you wear”  I believe what you wear is NOT the only way to express yourself, but dressing nicely on a lot of occasions does affect a little or a lot, doesn’t it?

  1. Hahaha…I get that A LOT too! Totally agree with what you explained…I feel the same way. Besides, I am a college professor, teaching mostly graduate business students, and I feel I need to dress nicely and professionally to set the example. You always look fabulous! 🙂

  2. A while back I also taught at the graduate level, and I made the book “Dress for Success” recommended reading in my class. It had nothing to do with the subject matter, but everything to do with real-world success for my students.

  3. One should always dress the way she(he) feels like.

You look always impeccable so it should not be (at all) a motive of embarrassment. If it what you feel you are great 🙂

Love that skirt, it’s just stunning!

  4. LOL love the comeback….People don’t understand that we run blogs…what do they expect? For us to showcase our sweats and raggedy tees? Of course we will show our “best” looks and I prefer to dress up when I go out (unless I’m dead tired or sick). While I don’t think “I am what I wear,” I do think appropriate grooming and taking the time to dress up always uplift my mood. I think you always look so put together and I always love what you wear! Keep on inspiring my dear! xo

  5. 很喜欢今天的这身搭配,好美,是我很喜欢的风格,谢谢分享。
    同意你的观点,以后我也努力做到,虽然现在来说真的很难,我一个人全职在家带不到一岁的宝宝。

  6. What can I say? You look absolutely stunning and chic! This skirt is amazingly gorgeous… Crazy! x <3

  7. 这身搭配的真好,很适合你, beautiful as aways.

  8. 非常有创意,搭配得大胆有新意,
    请问你有多高?我可以照着学学,如果不是很高的话

  9. I agree with you….Karl Lagerfield make a comment along the lines…if you wear sweatpants.. you have given up in life!!
I’m in a habit of dressing down…..but I do feel it affects your confidence…and the way other people perceive you.
I am a new blog follower *Hello!* x

  12. I always feel better when I dress nicely. People treat you differently depending how you dress too.

  13. OMG!!!!!
I love love love this skirt!!
How come it is sold out soooo fast!!

  14. oh my gosh, I just discovered your blog! I love that Stella McCartney crossbody so much and it works so well with the outfit!!! I dress up all the time even though I am just a college student. I think it’s important to look put-together all the time because I believe it’s important to show that you’re making an effort, especially when meeting new people. It doesn’t have to be really feminine or sophisticated. Even relaxed, but thought-over looks are good too. It just depends on the occasion/mood. I feel like if you wear ill-fitting clothes, it shows that you’re not a person that pays attention to details and in professional occasions that’s not a good impression.

  15. Oh, and I also meant to ask, how do you keep your hair always so voluminous and pretty? Like, even when you put it into a bun or a ponytail, it has that bed-head but polished look that I love. You should do a hair tutorial. 😛 🙂
