Style Edition: Black Maxi Skirt and White Button Down Shirt

HallieDaily Black and White in a Maxi Gown_3When I first saw this gown from the collection of Vivian Chan, one of my designer friends, I felt in love!  I love everything about this skirt — the shape, the color, the cut, the texture…and I love how Vivian styled it in her lookbook. So when she gave me this skirt, I told her that’s really a challenge for me, because she has already styled this skirt in a perfect and beautiful way. I am still very honored to be the first person to be able to style this skirt in my way.

To keep this skirt in her flawless beauty, I didn’t change the length, although my husband said this skirt is too long for me.  I kept telling my husband, “Just wait until that day when I can walk on the red carpet, and it will be perfect on me!” 🙂  Okay, that was a  joke between my hubby and me. I decided to style this skirt in a classic way, with black and white, inspired by a typical Carolina Herrera look. Are you a fan of her designs? I am! 🙂 , and I am so honored to be listed in the Vanity Fair 2013 International Best-dressed List together with her!

  1. The first thing that cam to mind when I saw this look was CH, and there you mentioned it as I read along! it’s really the length of the skirt and the fabric that gives it this beautiful extravagant look, and you could not have styled it better. You look gorgeous!

  2. 裙子好有气场!喜欢!
    但也要你这同样气场强大的人才撑得起来!

  3. Flawless! Love the simplicity of the luxurious ball skirt with the more utilitarian shirt! I actually wore a very similar look myself to a Placido Domingo gala, except my skirt was more streamlined and had a small train. It’s a very timeless look! You look gorgeous! 🙂
