It’s been so HOT these days in Los Angeles, so I have been wearing a lot of Summer shorts lately, at home or to go out.
Today I am sharing 3 summer shorts styles with you; hopefully these will give you more ideas about how to wear summer shorts — in 3 styles.
Style 1: Simple (Ruffle Sleeve)Tee + Baggy Shorts + Espadrilles.
This combo actually is my favorite summer shorts style, very easy to put together — you just need to add some of your favorite accessories to finish the look. Here I am wearing my favorite layered necklaces, and some golden hoop earrings. I have been wearing these earrings often lately — came from Macys at a very good price, and I like the look and the size, and they are never a problem to put on or take off. Espadrilles are my favorite summer shoes, they give me some extra height to my petite body, and I don’t need to sacrifice comfort(You can see me wearing these shoes here, here and here). Today I am wearing a ruffle sleeved top by Zara, and really love this similar style from Ulla Johnson.
Style 2: Cardigan + Tank Top + Pleated Shorts.
Pleated shorts ( the pair I was wearing is sold out, I found this pair is very beautiful and is on sale for 60% off!) always look classic in my eyes. Together with an elegant cardigan, this look is good for some light formal occasions. I still feel I should cover my knees for those very important occasions — I used to work as a department chief and I was asked to wear skirts/dresses below my knee, and I liked to see my staff at the same level. In this look, I am wearing shoes by Chanel(Found a similar pair here), and bag by Prada.
Style 3:Puff-sleeve shirt + Boxer Short + Platform sandals.
Shorts paired with platform sandals is a killer combo, very trendy and sexy at the same time. These boxer shorts have very wide legs, they almost look like a mini skirt (The same style has sold out, I also love these boxer shorts)– they help to define the waist line, too, I think. I like to pair this combo with a button-down shirt, to balance the “sexy” juice. Puff sleeves tops are always fun to wear and see, don’t you think?
